We are Jane Doe.” The shift from “she” to “I” to “we” moves the message from one person to an individual and then to a community, and it is the heart of the hoodie. Below the text sits a small illustration of three coneflowers with dark centers and drooping petals. Their gentle, hand-drawn look softens the heavy typography and suggests resilience and care. “I am Jane Doe” became a response. By saying the name together, supporters make it harder to single out one person and show that survivor privacy matters to many.  The case remains contested. A district attorney’s office previously said prosecutors did not find the alleged facts to constitute a crime, and New York’s attorney general has since been named special prosecutor, according to reports. This hoodie reflects support for survivor privacy and does not replace the legal process.
