The Pitt and Panthers Oakland Zoo You vs The Zoo 2026 Shirt is made for the students and fans who pack the lower bowl of the Petersen Events Center during Pitt men’s basketball home games in the 2026–27 season. It’s the gold shirt you wear when you’re part of the Oakland Zoo, the student section that has been making life hard for visiting teams in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood since 2001. One look at it tells everyone which side of the court you’re on.

The Pitt Panthers Oakland Zoo Shirt design uses Pitt’s blue and gold the whole way through and tells a short story about place and pride on both sides.

The Oakland Zoo is the student section for Pitt Panthers men’s basketball. The front is centered on a large “OAKLAND ZOO” logo in rounded, graffiti-style blue letters with thick white outlines, so it looks like it’s popping off the shirt. Behind the letters is a blue city skyline with layered towers and buildings that bring the Oakland and Pittsburgh setting to mind. Under the wordmark, a curved basketball outline holds the logo together and makes it clear this is about hoops. Small handwritten “Est. 2001” lettering sits off to the side, a quick nod to the section’s history.

The back is more direct. “YOU VS THE ZOO” runs across the shoulders in tall, condensed blue block letters, like a heading on a jersey. Below it is a blue silhouette of a Gothic tower inspired by the Cathedral of Learning, the best-known building on Pitt’s campus, rising over a row of trees. In front of the tower is a big bubble-style “6” in blue and white, the clearest focal point on the shirt.
