Bildung Ist Gut Alkohol Ugly Sweater | The Meme of the Season
Step into the 2025 holiday season wearing the internet’s favorite reaction image. This sweater reimagines the viral “Laughing Leo” meme in a glorious, faux-knit holiday aesthetic.
The design features the famous face of Leonardo DiCaprio (as Calvin Candie) raising a glass. However, instead of his usual drink, he is clutching a festive mug of Glühwein (mulled wine), complete with a cinnamon stick and orange slice. The background is a chaotic but charming blend of traditional fair isle patterns, reindeer, and snowflakes, printed in rich gold and black tones.
But the real star of the show is the text: “BILDUNG IST GUT aber ALKOHOL IST GUTER.”
Roughly translated, this means “Education is good, but alcohol is ‘gooder’.” The humor lies in the deliberate grammatical error. It is a layer of irony that suggests the wearer might have skipped a few German classes in favor of the holiday punch.
Whether you are at a corporate holiday bash or a local pub crawl, this sweater demands attention. It acts as a magnet for fellow meme lovers and German speakers. You aren’t just wearing a sweater; you are wearing a personality test. If they get the joke, you’ve found your people.

The Jersey is great
Wow, all three! Website was standard e-commerce, customer service promptly responded to my questions twice — though a bit indirectly, delivery tracking was a bit of a black box but once item cleared New Jersey customs I knew it was on its way.
